Quiet Revolution at Cannes 2008

Quiet Revolution will attend the Cannes Film Festival (14th - 21st May) with its exciting slate for 2008-2009 including Matt West's comedy-thriller The Odds, as well as his latest short comedy romp entitled The Funeral... Again! among others.

The company will be based at the Canada Pavilion in the Marché du Film and is a member of the Producers Network.

Mini Movie Channel acquires The Bed Guy
Online distributor Mini Movie Channel has acquired a non-exclusive license to broadcast Michael A. Dobbin's short family comedy The Bed Guy online.

From 12th - 15th November, Michael A. Dobbin will attend this exciting workshop delivered by the Creative Women Workshops Association in Montreal.

Bennial Conference for Canadian Studies
Quiet Revolution will moderate a module on the Canadian Film & Television industry for the biennial conference of The Association of Canadian Studies in the United States (ACSUS) which takes place in Toronto 14th - 18th November, 2007. Panelists to include Martin Harbury (OMDC), Gerry Flahive (NFB), Mary Henricksen (Telefilm), Matt West (Director), Robin Smith (Kinosmith), Rachel Fulford (Alliance Atlantis Communications).

Dobbin's Pitch goes to Ouat! Media
Director Michael A. Dobbin's award-winning short comedy satire Pitch has been licensed to Canadian short film distributor Ouat! Media. The digital comedy about an advertising executive's last stand will be seen on Movieola and other platforms.

Moviehouse opts for The Devil's Curse (a.k.a Credo)
Toni Harman's debut feature film Credo, produced by Alto Films and Michael A. Dobbin has been picked up by Moviehouse Entertainment and will be represented at the Cannes Film Market, 16-26th May 2007.

Pitch at Toronto's "World of Comedy"
Michael A. Dobbin's Award-winning short film Pitch, written by Chris Hastings, will compete at the World of Comedy Film Festival in Toronto Canada (7-11th March, 2007).

Festival success at the British Academy
Michael A. Dobbin and Michelle Hudson host "Just Watch Me! Award-Winning Canadian Short Films" at the British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA), London, England on 18th October 2006.

Thanks to the support of the Canada House Cinema Club, the Canadian High Commission, The Film Circuit of The Toronto International Film Festival and Bravo!FACT among others, the event has been hailed a great success!

Dobbin wins 'Best Direction' at Portobello
Michael has been awarded 'Best Direction' by London's 2006 Portobello Film Festival for Pitch, written by Chris Hastings. The film has been doubly honoured with a nomination for 'Best Comedy'. Congratulations to 1066 Productions, the cast and crew for a great showing!

Michael A. Dobbin's short film Pitch, written by Chris Hastings had its World Premiere at the Winnipeg International Film Festival in Canada, Sunday, 11th June 2006.

Dobbin's Next Big Idea
Dobbin's quirky, one-minute satire, Crown & Country: Her Majesty's Folk Brigade was a shortlisted finalist in Getty Images International contest: 'The Next Big Idea'.

Filmmakers from around the world were asked to submit proposals which used Getting Images material for a one-minute, online film.

British Council support for The Bed Guy
Dobbin's short film The Bed Guy has been granted place on British Council's Festival Support Scheme. This means that the film will recieve an extra boost in its bid to compete at international film festivals through 2006-07.
